Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari met with Ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Japan on 19/6/2009, where he gave a comprehensive review on the most important political and economic developments in Iraq as well as regional and international issues and praised the Arab countries for reopening their embassies in Iraq and stressed that the improvement in security situation, and the stability in Iraq has encouraged many companies to contribute to the reconstruction, development projects and investment and called on other Arab states to step up the reopening of their embassies in Iraq and the exchange of visits and interaction with the new Iraq.

Minister Zebari also addressed the international and regional situations and the rapid changes in the region recently, reviewing Iraq's relations with Arab countries and praised the recent decision of the Egyptian government to appoint its ambassador in Iraq.

Iraq's role in launching the Arab-Japanese dialogue was also addressed, which begins its sessions at the end of this year in Tokyo headed by Iraq.
