Courtesy call on Her Excellency Mrs. Sadako Ogata, President of Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA)

Ambassador@Faily, along with the second secretary Mr. Obay Al-Taii, met H.E. Mrs. Sadako Ogata, President of JICA, Mr. Kuroda, Vice President, and Mr. Yamada, Director General of the Middle East and Africa Department of the Agency. H.E Mr. Faily expressed his gratitude to Japan and particularly to JICA for their continuing support to Iraq.

The ambassador referred to the 15 projects to Iraq within the frame of Official Development Assistance (ODA) program, emphasizing its positive reflection of the developed bilateral relations between Iraq and Japan. Mr. Faily also said that these projects cover important sectors in Iraqi economy (Electricity, Energy and water sectors) that have direct impact on the daily lives of Iraqi people and these projects are distributed to most of the Iraqi provinces.

In return, Mrs. Ogata thanked H.E Mr. Faily for his visit, and she expressed her gladness for supporting Iraq. Mrs. Ogata also touched upon potentials that Iraq has, such as human and natural resources which can ensure a secured future for Iraqi people.
