Meeting with two Iraqi doctors in Japan

H.E.Mr. Lukman Faily, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Japan, met Dr. Jawad Al-Ali, a Consultant Physician from Al-Sadr Educational Hospital in Basrah province, and Dr. Omran S. Habib, a Professor of Epidemiology and health care at Department of Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine - University of Basrah, on 30th of July,2010. The two doctors visited Japan at the invitation of the NGO (JIM -NET) for the most advanced scientific researches in cancer field. The Secretary-General of (JIM-NET), Mr.(Maki Sato), Dr. (Katsumi Furitsu) from the International Coalition to Ban Uranium Weapons (ICBUW) and the second secretary of the embassy, also attended this meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Ambassador welcomed the guests and praised the bilateral relations between Iraq and Japan in various fields, including medical education, research and scientific studies on the treatment of cancer. For his part, Dr.Omran explained briefly about their visit to hospitals and research centers during their period staying in Japan to get benefit from the Japanese experience in the field of advanced research for cancer. The two doctors will leave to Iraq on the same day. The Ambassador expressed his readiness with the embassy staff to provide support to universities and educational institutions in Iraq benefit from the experiences of Japan in the field of research and medical studies. Mr. Ambassador thanked (JIM-NET) for their cooperation in this area which is bound to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries, wishing at the same time, Dr. Jawad and Dr.Omran safe journey back home. |
