Ambassador Lukman Faily meeting with Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan

picture H.E Mr. Lukman Faily, Iraqi Ambassador to Japan, along with his Second Secretary and the Iraqi Cultural Attache', visited on 08/30/2010, Mr. Nobuo FUJISHIMA, Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT), who is a also Director General for International Affairs in (MEXT).

During the meeting, Ambassador Faily praised that both countries enjoyed bilateral relations in all fields, especially in education and cultural sphere, in accordance with the Cultural Agreement signed between the two countries in 1978.

For his part, H.E. Mr. FUJISHIMA, indicated that Iraq and Japan already have cultural agreements in place and both should coordinate together for the purpose of future development, in addition, Mr. FUJISHIMA expressed his willingness to work jointly with the embassy in strengthening these cultural agreements for the benefit of both peoples in Iraq and Japan.

Ambassador Faily raised the subject of the procedures taken by the authorities of Japan for the purpose of Fellowship scanning admission by Japanese universities, which represent some challenges to Iraqi students, stressing the need to work together in order to attract Iraqi students to come to Japanese universities for study.
