Courtesy call on the Mayor of Kashiwazaki city

On October 31, H.E. Dr. Ghanim Al-Jumaily, Iraqi Ambassador to Japan paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of Kashiwazaki city, Mr. Hiroshi Aida.
It was the second time for him to come to Kashiwazaki city followed by the July 25-visit which was made shortly after the Chuetsu off-shore earthquake. Ambassador would like to observe the progress of the restoration.
Ambassador said," On the way to Kashiwazaki city, I have seen roads and bridges had already restored. I am happy to see the progress of restoration work. I would like to extend sympathy to those who affected by the earthquake. I hope the citizens of Kashiwazaki city will recover from the quake damages as soon as possible."
Mayor Aida said, "more than 1,000 households have moved to the temporary houses. Further efforts have to be made to restore the citizen's lives. City officials and citizens will work together to regain normal lives in Kashiwazaki city."
