Yen-loan signing ceremony

The yen-loan signing ceremony was held on Friday, January 25, 2008 at the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Tokyo. The Iraqi Ambassador, H.E. Dr. Ghanim Al-Jumaily signed on behalf of the Iraqi government and Mr. Kouji Tanami, the governor of JBIC signed on behalf of the Japanese government.
The loan package will cover eight projects, including the rehabilitation of electric power facilities and the building of irrigation facilities. The loan will also be used to increase the capacity of countie’s export facilities in Basra.
The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Tokyo takes this opportunity to express its gratitude, on behalf of the people of Iraq, to the Japanese people and government for their continuous support of Iraq. It is our hope that these projects will help to build strong partnership between Iraq and Japan.
