Lecture for 4th graders of the Canadian International School in Tokyo April 3, 2008
H.E. Dr. Ghanim Al-Jumaily delivered a lecture for 4th-grade students at the Canadian International School in Tokyo. He talked about space exploration and his work on Mars Pathfinder, Mars rover at NASA in 1996. Actually, Dr. Ghanim Al-Jumaily is an optics scientist and he was involved in the projects as an engineer. Although the Ambassador has delivered many lectures on this subject and others, he said lecturing 4th graders was the most difficult one. The Ambassador described details on working an a space program at NASA emphasizing the importance of teamwork to achieve success. The Ambassador said that there was so much to learn about the universe for future scientists like themselves. The children showed great interest in the lecture. The session ended with Q & A on what it means to be a scientist.
