The yen-loan signing ceremony was held on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Tokyo. H.E. Mr. Naseer Al-Ani, Head of Presidential Council of the Republic of Iraq participated in the ceremony on behalf of the Iraqi government. The provision of Japanese ODA Loan to Iraq was signed by H.E. Dr. Ghanim Al-Jumaily, the Iraqi Ambassador to Japan and Mr. Kouji Tanami, the governor of JBIC on behalf of the Japanese government. The loan package will cover two projects, including Electricity Sector Reconstruction Project in Kurdistan Region and Basrah Water Supply Improvement Project.
